Groundbreaking at the summer pool in Greifenberg
5 March 2020 | Greifenberg, Germany

Construction begins, two new pools, technology and more …

The summer pool will go back into operation in May 2021, according to the current planning of the Landsberg am Lech district. The earthworks now begin with the symbolic groundbreaking. Together with the mayors from the administrative community, district and municipal councils, District Administrator Thomas Eichinger was pleased to see the start of construction.

In 1972 the popular bathroom was created under the then district administrator Bernhard Müller-Hahl on an area of around 37,000 m². Since 1996 there have been various discussions about the aging bathroom due to the ever increasing technical and structural problems. From September 2017, another bathroom operation was no longer possible, including pipeline damage and aluminum pool leakage led to drastic water losses. Ultimately, the district council of Landsberg am Lech decided to rebuild the summer pool.

Now there is a swimmer pool with 25 meter lanes, slide and diving board, plus a non-swimmer pool. A building is being built with the new bathing water technology. The bathroom is then heated using innovative heat transfer and solar energy. From a state The district receives almost 600,000 euros in support program.
